Borough Care Admissions During Covid-19

Regardless of the current uncertainty, there is still an urgent need for the high-quality care we offer at Borough Care, and we are welcoming new residents during this Covid-19 pandemic. To ensure the safety of everyone involved, there will be some temporary restrictions in place.

Despite the challenges we all face, we’re here to make moving into a Borough Care home a happy experience, so your loved one can begin living their life in colour with us. Read more about our current admissions process below.

Choosing a Borough Care home

In person tours of our homes remain difficult at this time but we’d be delighted to provide a virtual tour, via video call. Please contact any of our 11 homes across Stockport and Staffordshire to make arrangements.

How to Apply

You can contact our homes directly to enquire about availability, which will differ from home to home. While you may have a preference of home, after a quick chat with our helpful staff you may find a different home has amenities better suited to your loved one.

Alternatively, residents can be referred to one of our homes by a Local Authority or health agency.

Our Homes

Pre- Admission

We want to get to know our residents, so we will telephone or video call new residents, along with their families, to carry out an assessment. Our aim is to make the move as easy and positive as possible.

We even offer video tours of our accommodation, to get a feel for the home and the room your loved one will be living in.

Once a date for admission has been set, we will supply you with an Information Pack and Contract which will give you all the information you need. Once you have completed the Contract, admission can be arranged.

One of our first ‘getting to know you’ tasks is to create an individual Support Plan. Just as everyone’s personalities are unique; so too is their care solution. By speaking with you and your loved one we can find out what they need, what they like and dislike, to settle them in smoothly.

Moving in Day

Our Information Pack contains lots of useful information about what to bring from home. You can also read this Creating That Home from Home Feeling, to help put your loved one at ease as soon as possible.

When new residents arrive, they will need to isolate before they can enjoy the company of our other residents. This will be done under the expert care of our staff and with every effort made to ensure their comfort and wellbeing. You can find more information in our FAQs.

Ongoing Care

We review Support Plans every month to check that your loved one is getting all they need. We encourage families to be a part of this process to ensure that everything from support changes, to tweaked diets, to the urge to learn the piano, is as accurate and up to date as possible.
